ENTRYS DUE 6/30/23

VENTURA COUNTY FAIR/ RANCH RIDING & TEAM SORTING

As of June 22, Ventura County is now 1 of 6 counties that is under quarantine by CDFA for Vesicular Stomatitis Virus in horses.  Horses from a suspected outbreak location cannot be removed or others brought in.  According to CDFA Animal Health Branch veterinarian, Andrea Mikolon, who spoke Wednesday on this subject at the state Cattlemen's meeting, horses moved in a quarantined county must have a recent health certificate or be examined by a veterinarian at the point of unloading.

The duration of the quarantine is unknown. Due to the cost as well as the logistics of vet checking every horse entering the fairgrounds the VCCA board of directors has reluctantly decided that we must cancel the Ranch Riding and Team Sorting events during the fair.  We are disappointed and sincerely plan to put on these events next year.
